Run Now Wine Later

I spent my evening at a beautiful local vineyard working an end of summer trail run.

The race is put on by Charm City Run and held at Boordy Vineyard.

Note: this race is always in August and always HOT – even with it being in the evening! Hydrate!

I absolutely LOVE this race! It’s easy to get to, parking is free and the post race party is one of the best around.

The course takes you around the vineyard on trail and grass and then out to the main road. It’s an out and back course so you end coming through the vineyard on the grass and trail.

And now – the fun part!

Runners are given access to Boordy and registration includes a complimentary wine tasting! As you enter the party, you receive your wine glass and then get to enjoy some delicious wine complements – cheese, bread/crackers, grapes and veggies. Water and soda is available for the runners as well.

We were still setting up and once runners come through its too crowded to get a good pic!

There’s is usually a caterer on site with food for sale however this year, Charm City Pops was on site selling homemade popsicles! I tried the Pineapple Crush and Chocolate with Sea Salt — so good! Runners were certainly enjoying the frozen treats after their run.

Last but not least, runners and their families get to relax, eat, drink and enjoy a free concert.

I love being a part of this event! It is always a great event – even with the crazy August heat! It’s a popular race and this year, sold out!

It’s a great way to wrap up your summer racing and transition into the cooler running months ahead!

At the end of last year’s event – I only worked this year since I’ve been lazy 🙂
